Technics Home Speakers SB-7070 – Adult Owned – Superb Condition/Sound
$1,595 · SW Portland / Tigard (Portland)

Technics’ SB-7070 is a big 1970s-era floorstander from Matsushita’s hi-fi line; the seller calls them well cared for since new, and in a $1,595 ask they’re priced as a serious vintage piece. Five photos in the listing. These are from when Technics was a great name, before they went all budget knock-off. More great photos inside the listing, really cool.
Genesis VERY RARE PHYSICS MODEL 11 SPEAKERS – NONE NICER!
$599 · Boise

Genesis Physics Model 11s with consecutive serial numbers, described by the seller as near mint, at a pleasantly low $599 (phone calls only). Genesis Physics was a short-lived Massachusetts maker of well-regarded, unusual-looking speakers, and clean pairs are hard to find. Not familiar with these personally, but they look interesting on cursory searching.
Heresy Speakers
$1,300 · Boise

A 1984 pair of Klipsch Heresy 1.5s with consecutive serial numbers, modified into ‘super Heresies’ with Crites metal tweeter horns and upgraded woofers in a ported cabinet; auditions by appointment. I’ve never personally thought these needed much in the way of upgrades, but Bob’s mods are respected if polarizing. (I once owned a pair of stock K-Horns, and had the chance ot listen to a set of K-Horns with his wildly complex 3rd-order crossover mod, and it really did change the feel at the low end of the midrange where the cross from woofer to mid would’ve been. I couldn’t say whether I liked it or not, though.)
Polk Audio SDA 2 Stereo Loudspeakers, fantastic sound & condition
$350 · Bellingham

Polk’s SDA 2 is the Matthew Polk and Sound Dimension Array design that used a stereo-difference trick to build a huge soundstage, and this pair comes with the original Polk interconnect cable for $350. A classic early-’80s audiophile bargain.
JBL D38 oversized vintage bookshelf speakers
$200 · Boise

An oversized pair of JBL D38 bookshelf speakers, $200 in Boise with the seller saying only that they sound fantastic. JBL’s vintage ‘bookshelf’ models were famously large and efficient, so these are worth a look for anyone building a retro system. Would probably be good in a monitor application or on a workbench, to. Washing machine for scale!
Polk RTi10s and CSi5 Home Theater Speakers
$350 · Spokane

Polk’s RTi10 towers pair a silk-polymer dome tweeter with a 6.5-inch midrange and dual 7-inch woofers in the company’s Dynamic Balance driver design; this Spokane lot at $350 also includes CSi5 center channel speakers. This is getting away from Polk’s innovative, vintage designs, but these would make the good basis of a home theater system.
Cerwin-Vega Home Speakers
$250 · Boise

Cerwin-Vega home speakers from a seller who’s downsizing and asking $250 or best offer in Boise, with only two photos and no model number given. They also look like they might hae been painted. Mildly interesting, for maybe half that price.
Fisher/JBL Vintage Stereo System
$499 · Boise

A complete 1970s-style Fisher ‘Studio Standard’ system for $499: the RS-1056 receiver (68 watts per channel), an MT6420 turntable with a new cartridge, and JBL LX44 speakers. The seller notes torn grilles and missing badges but good to excellent working condition. This is, sadly, getting past the era when Fisher was a top-end brand (which largely ended after the vacuum tube era) and were trending towards budget big-box store quality. That said, it’s fine, and this price for the package is a good reflection of true value here.
Polkaudio monitor 65T Floorstanding speakers
$175 · Tigard (Portland)

Polk Audio’s 65T monitor floorstanders from Tigard at $175, described by the seller as great sounding and excellent value. A sensible entry to Polk’s Monitor Series. I’d consider using these in a home theater application.
Smaller Advent Loudspeakers
$120 · Bellingham

A pair of ‘smaller’ Advent Loudspeakers in Bellingham, refoamed roughly a decade ago, for $120, with some veneer damage covered by stained cedar trim. Advent’s budget-friendly designs were a mainstay of 1970s home audio.
