1937 Detrola 139E Vintage Radio Repair
I just finished a new project over at Rain City Audio – 1937 Detrola 139E Vintage Radio Repair
This Detrola 139E chassis was on my bench recently while the cabinet was being refinished. It’s a striking 1937 radio with an art deco stationized dial with a very large tuning area, and even though it only has 5 radio tubes, it’s a great performer. I replaced the rectifier tube and rebuilt the electronics of the radio followed by testing and an alignment; now it’s very selective and will be a safe and reliable appliance for someone’s home.

Bose 901 Series I Early Production Equalizer #00570 Repair
I just finished a new project over at Rain City Audio – Bose 901 Series I Early Production Equalizer #00570 Repair
This BoseĀ® Active Equalizer is the earliest I’ve ever seen through the shop, serial #570. It’s very hand made and got a complete overhaul, including some upgrades to maximize performance. With all new parts to replace the worn out and failed originals after 46 years, it’s going to sound great for a long time to come.

Bose Active Equalizer Model 800 #003833 Repair
I just finished a new project over at Rain City Audio – Bose Active Equalizer Model 800 #003833 Repair
Those Bose Active Equalizer model 800 is from the early run of the Bose 800 PA system, which is very similar to the Bose 901 direct/reflecting speaker system. The equalizer had bad noise and distortion in both channels when I got it, but after a repair works and sounds perfect and will last for a long time to come.

I just finished a new project over at Rain City Audio – 1950 Crosley 10-139 Vintage Radio Repair
This classic 1950s All American Five, the Crosley 10-139 just came through the shop. It was an estate sale find that had some damage from careless handling, but despite a rough past it fixed up nicely and will do a great job bringing in the Mariners games and oldie’s radio for many years to come.
